Your Playhouse-in-a-Weekend Kit arrives at your home complete and
assembles with ease
Practical Folly Playhouses are perfect places for young imaginations to roam free. We individually handcraft each Playhouse with the safety of the occupants in mind, according to our strict specifications and each client's requirements. Our Playhouses are constructed using premium quality materials to ensure your Playhouse will be enjoyed by your children (and your grandchildren) for many years to come. We build in safety features and include whimsical finishing touches.
We recognize that not everyone is a master carpenter. We prefabricate our Playhouses into finished components that are easy to assemble by a novice handy-person working with one or two able-bodied assistants.
The only tools and equipment you require are
- a screwdriver or electric drill (preferably cordless)
- a utility knife
- a hammer
- a level
- a six-foot step ladder
- safety eyewear

Our method of pre-fabrication ensures ease of assembly
The shell is a weather resistant exterior grade plywood that is sanded smooth on both sides, making the interior as nicely finished as the exterior. Our optional siding (Horizontal Board or Scallop Shingle) is solid clear western red cedar. The units for the floors, walls and roof are prefabricated. This allows assembly to be simple and fast. Your Playhouse can be ready for its occupants in a weekend!

To ensure a nice quality of light inside, there are windows on all four sides of the Playhouse
The back window opens casement style to enhance air circulation. We us shatter resistant acrylic for the glazing - safe even for rambunctious play. The windows are pre-installed in the walls.

Children love the novelty of a Dutch style door
The door is solid long-lasting clear Western Red Cedar. As a safety feature we use spring loaded door catches - no one will be locked in (or out!).

Our self adhesive roofing membrane is easier and faster to apply than individual shingles
The roofing membrane is extremely weather resistant and comes with a 20 year guarantee.

We have selected long lasting brass hardware
The hardware on a Practical Folly Playhouse is just as important as every other part of the structure. We choose brass for its rust resistance. Everything required for assembly is included (and the holes are pre-drilled, so no guessing is required!)
We apply a primer paint coat both the exterior and interior
All of the boring prep work is done for you! We sand all exposed surfaces smooth, round all exterior corners, then apply primer to your Playhouse to ensure maximum weather resistance. You may also opt to have us paint your Playhouse for you.
